Control Surfaces

Control Surfaces are created by a dozen manufacturers including Digidesign, Mackie, M-Audio, Euphonix, Presonus, Novation, Korg which directly control the softwares loaded on the DAW such as Pro Tools, Nuendo, Logic Pro, Sonar etc. Most of the digital mixers are also capable of functioning as a control surface including Yamaha O2R, Tascam DM24 and so on. However, the quality of control varies with the type of connectivity such as Ethernet connectivity and USB Connectivity. For Pro tools, Digidesign control surfaces attempt to bridge the gap between old style analogue desks and modern DAWs by providing physical controls for the Pro Tools software. The latest control surface is the C|24, successor to the Control|24, a 24 fader control surface with 16 built in Focusrite “A” Class Mic Preamps.
